SAMSUNG GALAXY AI IMMERSIVE MUSIC FESTIVAL

In the Summer of 2024, Samsung hosted its Galaxy AI Immersive Music Festival, a three-hour event that used the latest technology to create a hybrid concert and immersive experience in Ho Chi Minh City. The show featured top Vietnamese artists, DJs, and state-of-the-art visual production.

The creative team, led by MxC, aimed to make a captivating show that would keep audiences engaged for every second of the three-hour show. To accomplish their ambitious goal, they added every ingredient they could think of: sound, lighting, lasers, video, and even a virtual character at the centre of it all.

MxC collaborated with Tung Crazy Monkey and DJ Huy Ngo to develop their character in a workflow integrating Daz 3D and Notch. The team used mobile phone-based facial motion capture and exported the captured data to Notch to add effects and build a more refined, cohesive image.

The project was executed using the upcoming Notch 1.0 release, which significantly improved the overall quality of the visuals utilizing the brand-new rendering engine. As MxC’s Mel Tran remembered, “The audience couldn’t take their eyes off the stage!”
