Notchmarks

What are Notchmarks?

Notchmarks are a measure of GPU performance across a range of common Notch techniques. They serve two purposes:

  • To compare relative performance of GPUs and Notch enabled media servers
  • To allow designers & artists to create to a GPU performance budget

Using the Notchmarks data, Notch Builder is able to estimate the performance of your Notch creation on any benchmarked GPU or media server. This frees the designer to explore and push the boundaries of creativity while being confident of target machine performance. For more information, see the Managing Performance in Media Servers section of the manual.
