Case Study

DEX AT MALL OF SCANDINAVIA

BAJT used Notch to build a sculptural video installation at the Mall of Scandinavia in Stockholm, Sweden.

DEX is the name of the new sculptural video installation at the newly built Mall of Scandinavia in Stockholm, Sweden. The 65-meter long installation is made up by 3800 LED strips, forming a huge volumetric canvas where each strip has a maximum of 64 individually controlled pixels. BAJT was commissioned by Mediatec to create volumetric content that could show the full creative potential of this huge volumetric installation. Using Notch, in combination with media server disguise and advanced UV mapping of 3d models in 3D Studio Max, volumetric content such as Northern Light effects and three-dimensional wave patterns could be generated, visualised, sequenced and played back in real-time.

Notch made it easy to achieve advanced UV mapping on a huge scale.
