When The BROS approached MxC just two and a half weeks before the 2025 edition of the GS25 Music Festival titled Slay the Winter, it was clear they wanted to go big in the company’s first time hosting the event. They requested MxC create a magical land with an ice castle—home to their main character, a princess played by Vietnamese pop star Bich Phuong—alongside a giant onstage ice cube depicting the festival’s tagline.
GS25 MUSIC FESTIVAL: SLAY THE WINTER

MxC used Notch 1.0 alongside Blender to bring their winter kingdom to life. The studio simulated visual effects directly onto stage structures, maximizing three-dimensional impact for the performance at Ho Chi Minh City’s Creative Park.
The team found Notch essential in overcoming the project's most demanding technical challenges, particularly rendering text embedded within ice blocks, for which they used Notch’s Path Tracer, and creating particle trails that spread across surfaces. As Notch Designer Cuong Nguyen notes, using Notch 1.0’s new NURA rendering system dramatically reduced processing time for glass materials compared to traditional methods.
Notch 1.0’s material processing and lightning-quick rendering allowed us to—in no time—create a wintry world for friends to connect, party, chill among their idols, and be freely themselves.Mel Tran, Creative Director, MxC
The results exceeded expectations, and the Notch-generated visuals resonated particularly strongly with the client, who decided to incorporate them into all advertising and promotional materials for the festival.
