Case Study

LAURA PAUSINI’S YO CANTO WORLD TOUR 2026

GATE1 Studio used a highly modular Notch workflow for Laura Pausini's latest world tour, employing fantasy aesthetics in an arena environment.

For the Pamplona stop on Laura Pausini’s Yo Canto World Tour, the GATE1 Studio team set out to elevate the show’s visual language with real-time video effects. As their first time spearheading content on a tour of this scale, the studio had high ambitions.

The GATE1 team aimed to create a deep synergy between the content and performance by integrating custom-produced motion graphics with Notch. In merging those two worlds, they could ensure the real-time and pre-rendered work jelled and became a more intentional experience.

The team spent three weeks in pre-production, developing aesthetic references from the artist herself as well as her co-creative director, Luca Tommassini, before bringing all their disparate efforts together for 10 days of onsite testing and refinement in the arena environment.

The team also used Notch for extensive previsualisation. As GATE1’s Lorenzo Venturini recalls, “By adding environmental elements, cameras, and using the Hybrid Renderer, we were able to render numerous high-quality previews. A key factor in our efficiency was the heavy use of the new exposed parameters feature for the render queue, which allowed us to keep our project exceptionally clean, modular, and easy to navigate.”

We were incredibly impressed with Notch 2026.1’s stability and performance. The new version felt especially robust and handled the arena environment without a hitch. The engine's efficiency allowed us to manage high-resolution assets and complex real-time effects with significant headroom. It truly enabled us to bridge the gap between pre-rendered quality and live flexibility.

To embed the artist seamlessly into the digital environments, the team ran two simultaneous instances of the NVIDIA-powered Virtual Background tool across both camera feeds. And when the artist requested adding two LED towers at the last minute, Notch's node-based architecture allowed the team to implement a multi-layer workflow under pressure, scaling to 75 compositions and 100 Block updates.
